Michael Luttig, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals (ret.) for the Fourth Circuit, retired from the bench several years ago.

A well respected conservative jurist, he advised Vice President Mike Pence on and before January 6, 2021, as to the limitations on the role of the Vice President during the congressional session at which the slates of electors certified by the states were formally presented to Congress for counting at a joint session.
