SPEAKER:  Mark Kelso, Queens University

Professor Kelso will discuss how the politics of climate change will impact economics, especially competition among businesses and countries.


BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mark Kelso is currently Professor of Political Science at Queens University of Charlotte and the 2017 winner of the Hunter-Hamilton Love of Teaching Award.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Murray State University and his doctorate degree in Political Science from Vanderbilt University.

He teaches a variety of courses at Queens, including European Politics, Campaigns and Elections, Environmental Politics and Congress and the Presidency. His research interests include environmental policy, electoral behavior and political leadership. He has published in such journals as Presidential Studies Quarterly and Congress and the Presidency.

He will have a chapter on President Obama’s environmental policies in the forthcoming book, Evaluating the Obama Presidency, edited by Bose and Fritz.
