Be a Voice for the Children in Our Community with Rhonda McGuire

TOPIC: Be a Voice for the Children in Our Community with Rhonda McGuire
SPEAKER: Rhonda McGuire
The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) program recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteer advocates to protect and promote the best interest of abused and neglected children in the state’s custody (foster care).
A GAL works as part of a team with a program staff and an attorney advocate to prepare a written report to help the judge understand what is best for the child and to ultimately find them a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. Before beginning service, GALs participate in 35 hours of training and observe two hours of juvenile court.
