Our Birds with Dr. Steve Coggin

TOPIC: Our Birds

SPEAKER: Dr. Steve Coggin, Emeritus Professor of Biology, Catawba College 

Mecklenburg County is home to more than 300 species of birds but we share many of these birds with other people far from here. This presentation will explore the phenomenon of bird watching and birds that are in our yards, parks and fields. We will also examine bird migration and behavior. Finally we will discuss conservation challenges facing bird and us.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Steve Coggin is Emeritus Professor of Biology at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. He spend over 30 years teaching and doing research with students in the fields of cell and molecular biology. He is also a member and past President of the Mecklenburg Audubon Society and leads birding trips both foreign and domestic.
