The men and women who speak at Senior Scholars are not paid. We recognize, however, that the carefully crafted presentations they bring us – most of which are available in our Speaker Archives – require time and expertise and have found other ways to express our gratitude.
We begin, of course, with a written note of thanks. In addition, we ask each speaker to choose a charity, and Senior Scholars makes a donation in his or her name to that charity.
We ask only that the charity be a recognized non-profit organization. While not every speaker chooses to take advantage of our offer, most do.
As the list below demonstrates, donations from Senior Scholars over the years have helped to support a wide variety of charities, a measure of community involvement in which we take great pride.
