Wake Forest School of Medicine – Charlotte Update

Atrium Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health announced earlier this year that they will combine to operate as a single enterprise with the formation of the Wake Forest School of Medicine-Charlotte.

This is the first medical school in the nation to be built since the pandemic. Located near Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Midtown, groundbreaking is expected to take place in the spring of 2022 with the admission of student in 2024.

BIOGRAPHY & RESOURCES

Mary Nolan Hall, MD is Senior Vice President and Senior Associate Dean of Education and Faculty at Atrium Health in Charlotte. She is responsible for academic programs: undergraduate and graduate medical education, nursing & allied health, continuing education and PA and NP fellowships as well as physician APP leadership in Charlotte. She is a Professor of Family Medicine at Atrium Health and Clinical Professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine. At Atrium for the past 3 decades, Dr. Hall has also served in the Department of Family Medicine as the Medical Student Director, Residency Director and was Chair of the Department from 2003-2011.
