Terri White

BIOGRAPHY
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native Terri L. White’s diverse career background has molded her into an innovative, charismatic, and transformative organizational leader. For years, she worked in fundraising and operations roles at some of America’s most beloved museums including the Smithsonian Institution.
After a brief stint in the private sector, she has returned to the humanities by serving as the President and CEO of the Charlotte Museum of History- the first African American to serve in this capacity.
A proud graduate of Howard University, Terri has also earned a Master of Arts degree from George Mason University, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, a graduate business certificate from the University of Louisville, and is currently a doctoral student at the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business.
Her research will focus on the impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporations, particularly as it relates to economic and professional disparities faced by African Americans employed in American corporations. By pursing a Doctor of Business Administration degree, she hopes to have the career flexibility to still be an entrepreneur, museum industry thought leader, and advocate for diversity and inclusion the arts and business.
Terri is very involved in the community and particularly enjoys supporting the cultural and urban health initiatives. Terri is an Associate Advisory Board Member for Teach for America Charlotte-Piedmont Triad and is the 2022-23 Executive Vice President of the Junior League of Charlotte. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a golden life member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority.
