She continues to work to expand access to affordable housing\, increase local awareness and action on school safety\, and bring traction and economic opportunities to the 69-acre Eastland site\, an area left undeveloped for years. As a mother\, she knows how important a child’s environment is for their future success and is committed to ensuring safety and security for each child. Ajmera lives with her husband\, Dr. Vaibhav Bajaj\, and her daughters\, Charlotte and Arya. \nAjmera became the first Asian American and youngest woman to be elected to City Council with her historic victory in 2017.
