How do I get to know people?

Attend the NewComer's Coffee / Tea, In Wolfe Hall, on the first Friday of meeting months at 9:30 AM.  You will find us just past the coffee / tea stations.

Come early before the opening 10 AM bell, any meeting Friday, to enjoy coffee or hot tea, meet fellow scholars and make new friends who share common interests.

Sign up and join us for Lunch Bunch which meets once per month (usually the fourth Friday of the month)* at 11:45 PM. Table size varies per restaurant but you will sit with maybe 6 or 8 other members which is a great size to get to know your fellow Scholars.  *Exceptions: the months of January, May, September and November.

After our Friday meetings, several Senior Scholars go to lunch at the Young Dining Hall located on the first floor of the Trexler Student Center on the main Queens University campus.  Their recently re-designed dining hall offers a variety of quality food stations.  At the door the meal cost is $11.00 which includes tax. Visitors can pay by cash and credit card. To take advantage of a discounted price, purchase a Queens University Q-Card which allows you to purchase prepaid meals (example: purchase 10 meals for $101.09 which includes tax). This is another opportunity to get to know more folks. The full-time students dine here also, so just look for us Seniors!

To get a Q-card: Q-cards are issued at the campus security guard office.  The campus security office is now housed on the first floor of the white Withers house located at the intersection on Selwyn and Wellesley.  Be prepared to have your picture taken when applying for a Q-card.

To add meals: Go to the post office that is located downstairs in the Texler building. Near the post office is an administrative office where they can receive payments for meals that are added to your Q-card account.
